Guireag or Gourock is a town falling within the Inverclyde council area and formerly forming a burgh of the historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland on the Firth of Clyde. Basil visited Lyle Hill, a viewpoint in Greenock, providing a panoramic view across the Clyde estuary, its highest point is 426 feet above sea level. It overlooks Gourock and the 'Tail of the Bank', an area of the River Clyde denoting the point at which the river becomes the Firth of Clyde. Special thank's to Marion McNeill for the brilliant photographs.
